Home Improvement - COUNTERS - CLEANING PLASTIC LAMINATE COUNTERTOPS
Cleaning Plastic Laminate Counters
For regular cleaning, use a warm water-detergent
solution and sponge, and rinse off. Never use scouring
powders, or other abrasive cleaners or pads, as they can
permanently damage the surface, making it readily
stained. Mild general purpose household cleaners may also
be used, according to directions.
Sculptured finishes may require use of a soft nylon-
bristled brush in a rotating motion to get the detergent
solution into all the crevices; blot up with absorbent
cloth or paper towel, and rinse.
Auto wax may also improve the appearance of worn
laminate tops.
Occasional application of a cleaner wax such as is
used on kitchen appliances, can help protect the plastic
surface from staining.
